One of the core features of Due Process is the tactical planning experience. With the latest update to the game, we've now introduced the Icon System & Planning Overhaul. It makes creating, communicating, and executing plans even better! Here's a scenario that could have played out before:

You boot into a match of Due Process. You go to the map view right away and start drawing a plan on the map. “How about we have two people, one of them with the SAB-R, go through this door over here. The rest of the team should enter from the other side.” “Where do you want the SAB-R again?” your friend Peter asks immediately. “Office, ” you reply briefly while switching to first-person. You see that Peter is fully decked out already and is checking the sight of his sniper rifle. You realize that the first thing he did at the start of the round, was grab a couple of flashbangs and his favorite gun. Thus, he couldn't see the drawings you used to explain your plan.
You pick up a shotgun. While you are loading in the shells, your other friend Mary says, “I’ll throw a flashbang over here and a frag over there.” You switch back to the map view and look at her scribble. You are about to clarify which of the two crosses is the flash and which the frag, but there is no time. The truck doors open and your team rushes towards the building…

These and similar problems made planning tedious sometimes. With today’s update, we went to great lengths to make planning as smooth as possible.

Icon System

The icon will allow you to express your plans better. You can drag icons onto the map to indicate where equipment like flashbangs, door charges, barbwire, or molotovs should go. It also assists in distributing the different tasks: Players can claim icons to indicate that they’ll get the job done.

A claimed icon will also remind you to pick up the equipment and serve as a waypoint during execution.

Planning and Gear Up

To get everyone on the same page, the planning phase is now separated into two distinct phases: Planning and Gear Up. Planning lasts a short while during which attackers will be locked in their seats, and defender weapon lockers will be shut. This combined with the map view starting open by default for this phase should direct players' attention to making a plan.

Gear Up starts next, where attackers can stand up and the defender weapon cages open. Now it’s time to pick up your gear. Nobody is stopping you, however, from continuing to plan during the Gear Up phase if you want to take more time.
